How to make a resume on your phone (and send it as a PDF)

Updated on October 25, 2026

You can make a good-looking resume with just your phone, no computer and no app. You fill it in in the browser, download the PDF and send it by e-mail, a messaging app or the job site. This guide covers the whole way, from the first field to sending it.

Before you start

  • Gather your dates. Month and year you started and left each job, and the year you finished school.
  • Think about the job. A good resume is made for one kind of job. If you are looking in two different fields, make two versions.
  • Use an e-mail address with your name. If yours is a nickname, create a new one just for job hunting.

Step by step in the resume builder

  1. Open the resume builder in your phone’s browser (Chrome, Safari or another one).
  2. In the Details step, add your name, phone, e-mail and city. Also choose your field: it unlocks the ready-made phrases.
  3. In Objective, tap a ready-made phrase and adjust it to the job. Do the same in the Summary.
  4. In Experience, tap Add experience for each job, most recent first. For the duties, use the suggestions for your field and write one per line.
  5. Fill in Education, Courses, Skills and Languages. Skip what you don’t have.
  6. In the Template and PDF step, choose a template, check the preview and tap Download resume as PDF.

What you fill in stays saved in your phone’s browser. If your connection drops or you close the page, just come back to the builder and your data is there.

Where the PDF goes

  • On Android: the file goes to the Downloads folder. It also shows up in your notifications right after the download.
  • On iPhone: Safari opens the PDF or asks what to do. Tap Download, or tap share and then Save to Files. It ends up in the Files app, in the Downloads folder.

The file is named after you, like resume-maria-silva.pdf, which helps whoever receives it find your resume.

How to send it by e-mail, a messaging app or a job site

  • E-mail: attach the PDF and put the job title and your name in the subject. Two or three lines in the body are enough.
  • Messaging apps: send it as a document, not as a photo, so the text stays sharp and opens on a computer.
  • Job sites: look for the button to attach a resume and choose the PDF. If the site rejects it for size, compress the PDF and try again.

Need to send your resume with a certificate that is a photo? Turn the photo into a PDF with JPG to PDF and then merge the two PDFs.

Tips for writing well on a phone

  • Short sentences. On a phone, a long sentence turns into a big paragraph in the PDF.
  • One duty per line, starting with what you did: “Served customers”, “Managed stock”.
  • Read it in the preview. It shows the PDF as it will look, so typos are easy to spot.
  • Start from the ready-made phrases for your field and change them to your own words. It’s faster than writing from scratch.

Your data on your phone

The resume is built on your device, and nothing goes to our server. If you used someone else’s phone, tap Delete my data at the end of the tool.
