PowerPoint to PDF

Turn your PowerPoint presentation into a PDF, one slide per page, with its images and tables.

PPTX, PPT or ODP, up to 25 MB. Word and Excel work too.

Your file goes to our server in Brazil, becomes a PDF and is deleted right away, never stored.

How to convert PowerPoint to PDF in 3 steps

  1. Choose the presentation

Tap Choose PowerPoint file and select the PPTX or PPT.

  2. Convert

Tap Convert to PDF. The presentation is uploaded, turned into a PDF on our server and deleted right away.

  3. Download the PDF

Tap Download PDF. The PDF keeps the presentation’s name, ending in .pdf.

When to send slides as a PDF

  • School or college work that the teacher wants as a PDF and opens on any device.
  • Client proposals, with no risk of fonts changing or slides falling apart on someone else’s computer.
  • Handouts for a class or event, lighter to send on WhatsApp than the PPTX with everything inside.

Where your file goes

This is one of the few PegaPDF tools that need a server: turning slides into a PDF takes a full office suite, which doesn’t fit in a phone browser. The presentation goes to our server, in Brazil, where LibreOffice converts it in a temporary folder of its own. As soon as the PDF is ready (or if something fails), the folder is deleted. The PDF goes straight back to your device and is not stored. The converter has no internet access, and the server log keeps only the format, the size range and the conversion time, never the file name or its content.

Limits

One presentation of up to 25 MB at a time, up to 1 minute of conversion and up to 10 conversions every 15 minutes per person. When lots of people are converting at once, the screen asks you to try again in 1 minute.

Other tools

For text documents, use Word to PDF; for spreadsheets, Excel to PDF. To turn the slides into images to post, PDF to JPG; to merge with other PDFs, merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?

Yes. Unlike the other PegaPDF tools, which run in your browser, this one needs our server, in Brazil: the presentation is uploaded, turned into a PDF and deleted right away, whether it worked or not. The PDF comes back only to you and is not stored. Nobody opens the presentation, and the file name is not even sent.

Does each slide become a page?

Yes. A 20-slide presentation gives a 20-page PDF, in the slide’s shape (16:9 or 4:3). Hidden slides are left out.

Do animations, videos and audio work in the PDF?

No. The PDF shows each slide as it ends up, still. Video and audio show as their cover image, without playing. To present with animations, use PowerPoint itself.

Are speaker notes included?

No. Only the slides go into the PDF, without the notes. That’s what you send to a class, a client or a panel.

Does the PDF look like the presentation?

Almost always. The conversion uses LibreOffice with fonts that have the same metrics as the Office ones (Carlito for Calibri and Liberation for Arial). A brand or downloaded font we don’t have is swapped for a similar one, and the text may come out slightly wider or narrower.

Does it convert old PPT and ODP files?

Yes. It takes PPTX, PPT (PowerPoint 97 to 2003) and ODP (LibreOffice, or Google Slides downloaded as ODP). It also takes Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.

What is the maximum size?

25 MB per file. A presentation full of large photos may go over that: in PowerPoint, use File > Compress Pictures first, or convert it and then shrink the PDF with compress PDF.

Is there a conversion limit?

Up to 10 presentations every 15 minutes per person, with no sign-up and no cost. A conversion that fails does not count.

Does a password-protected presentation convert?

No. A presentation that needs a password to open does not convert here, and we never try to break the password. Remove it in PowerPoint (File > Info > Protect Presentation) and upload again.

Does it work on a phone?

It works on Android and iPhone, in the browser. Tap Choose PowerPoint file and pick it from your phone’s files, Google Drive or iCloud. On iPhone, the PDF goes to the Files app.
