Split PDF
Keep only the pages you need, or save one page per file. All in your browser, with no upload.
One PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages.
Your file never leaves your device: everything happens in the browser, with no upload to any server.
How to split a PDF in 3 steps
Choose the PDF
Tap Choose PDF and pick the file. The screen shows how many pages it has.
Say what to take out
Under Extract pages, type the pages, like 1-3, 5. Or choose One page per file.
Split and download
Tap Split PDF, then Download PDF, or Download all to get the .zip.
Two ways to split
Extract pages creates a single PDF with the pages you type. It’s handy for sending only the signed page of a contract, one chapter of a course pack, or just the bill page from a long statement.
One page per file creates a PDF for each page, in a .zip. It’s handy for separating documents that were scanned together, like an ID, a tax card and a proof of address in a single scan.
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| 1-3, 5 | pages 1, 2, 3 and 5 |
| 2 | only page 2 |
| 7- | from page 7 to the last page |
| -3 | pages 1, 2 and 3 |
A page that doesn’t exist shows up in red, with its number, before you split. You fix it without downloading anything wrong.
Your file never leaves your device
Splitting happens in your browser: the PDF is opened in your phone’s or computer’s memory, and the chosen pages are copied to a new file right there. Nothing goes through our server. That goes for bank documents, contracts and any personal paperwork.
Limits
One PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages at a time. The progress bar shows the page the tool is on, and Cancel stops it midway.

To do the opposite, use merge PDF. To rotate or delete pages without splitting the file, organize PDF. To turn each page into an image, PDF to JPG.
Frequently asked questions
How do I type the pages I want?
Use commas between pages and a hyphen for a range. “1-3, 5” extracts pages 1, 2, 3 and 5. “7-“ goes from page 7 to the last one. The screen shows what will be extracted before you tap Split PDF.
Do the pages come out in the order I typed?
They come out in document order, without repeats: “5, 1-2” becomes pages 1, 2 and 5. To change the order, use organize PDF.
What does one page per file do?
Each page becomes its own PDF, and you get them all in a .zip. The names include the page number with leading zeros, like “contract-page-01.pdf”, so they stay in order in the folder.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and split in your browser, using your device’s memory. Nothing leaves your device, and nothing is stored.
Is there a size limit?
One PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Beyond that, a phone may run out of memory.
Do the pages lose quality?
No. The pages are copied as they are: text stays selectable, and images aren’t re-saved.
How do I open the .zip on my phone?
On iPhone, the .zip goes to the Files app: tap it and it turns into a folder with the PDFs. On Android, your file manager opens the .zip in the Downloads folder.
The PDF is password protected. Can I split it?
No. A protected PDF won’t open here, and we don’t try to break the password. See what to do in the guide PDF won’t open or is password protected.
I want to split it so the file gets smaller. Does that work?
It helps when only some pages matter. If you need the whole document, use compress PDF, which shrinks the file without removing pages.
