Merge PDF
Choose your PDFs, put them in order and download one file. Free, no sign-up, and no upload to any server.
Up to 20 PDFs, 50 MB each and 100 MB in total.
Your file never leaves your device: everything happens in the browser, with no upload to any server.
How to merge PDF files in 3 steps
Choose your PDFs
Tap Choose PDFs and pick two or more files. On a computer, you can also drop the files on the dotted area.
Put them in order
Drag each file by the handle or use the arrows. The list shows how many pages each PDF has.
Merge and download
Tap Merge PDF, then Download PDF. The new file ends with “-merged” in its name.
Got the order wrong or forgot a file? Tap Start over, or use Add more PDFs before merging.
Your document never leaves your device
Many PDF sites upload your file, merge it on their server and send the result back. Not here: the tool runs in your browser, and your PDFs are opened and merged in your phone’s or computer’s memory. No file goes through our server, and closing the page clears everything.
That matters when the PDF is a contract, a bank statement, a bill, an ID or a tax form. You don’t have to trust anyone to delete the file later: it simply isn’t uploaded.
When merging PDFs helps
- Paperwork for an application: ID, proof of address and a signed form in one file, for upload boxes that take a single PDF.
- Assignments and course packs: cover, contents and chapters that came as separate files.
- Receipts and invoices: the month’s receipts in one PDF for your accountant.
- Medical results: lab reports that arrive as several files.
Limits
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| PDFs at once | 20 |
| Size of each PDF | 50 MB |
| Total size | 100 MB |
| Pages in the merged PDF | 500 |
The limits keep phones from freezing: everything uses your device’s memory, page by page, with a progress bar and a Cancel button. A password-protected PDF is flagged in the list and left out of the final file.
More PDF tools
To take pages out of a PDF, use split PDF. To make the file lighter before sending, compress PDF. To rotate, delete or reorder pages, organize PDF. Photos become a PDF with JPG to PDF, and pages become images with PDF to JPG.
Frequently asked questions
Is merging PDFs here free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, no watermark on your document and no daily limit. The site is paid for by ads, which stay outside the tool area.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDFs are opened and merged in your browser, using your device’s memory. Nothing leaves your device, and nothing is stored: closing the page clears everything. That’s why it’s fine for contracts, bank statements and ID documents.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 20 PDFs, 50 MB each and 100 MB in total. The merged PDF can have up to 500 pages. For more, merge in parts and then merge the parts.
How do I change the order?
Drag each PDF by the handle next to its name, or use the arrows to move it up or down. The list order is the page order in the merged PDF.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on iPhone (Safari) and Android (Chrome). See the steps in the guide on how to merge PDFs on your phone.
One of my PDFs shows as protected. What now?
A PDF with a password or an editing lock won’t open here, and we don’t try to break the protection. If the PDF is yours, the guide PDF won’t open or is password protected shows how to save a copy without the password.
Does the merged PDF lose quality?
No. The pages are copied as they are, without re-saving the images. Text stays selectable and web links keep working.
Do bookmarks and forms carry over?
The bookmarks (the side outline) of the original PDFs don’t carry over, and form fields may stop being fillable. Fill in your forms before merging.
The merged file is large. Can I shrink it?
Yes. Use compress PDF: it shows the size before and after and never gives you a file larger than the original.
Can I merge photos with PDFs?
Turn the photos into a PDF first with JPG to PDF. Then merge that PDF with the others here.
