Where the 200 KB limit shows up
You’ll find it on registration forms that ask for several documents, one per field: ID, proof of address, school records, certificate. The limit may apply to each file or to all of them together, and every site has its own rule, so check what’s written next to the upload button.
The fewer pages, the more room each one gets. A short document has a better chance of fitting while staying easy to read; with many pages, each one loses sharpness, because the 200 KB is shared between them.

The screen shows which attempt fit. When the pages become images, the result says so, so you know you can no longer copy text from the file.
Tips to fit in 200 KB and stay readable
- Scan in grayscale if your phone app or scanner lets you choose. A black-and-white document doesn’t need color, and it gets lighter.
- One document per file. If the form has one field per document, don’t put everything in a single PDF.
- Remove blank pages and empty backs with organize PDF before compressing.
- Open it before you send it. Zoom in on your phone and check that numbers, dates and the signature are readable.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages fit in 200 KB?
There’s no fixed number. A text PDF made on a computer takes little space per page. A scanned page or photo takes much more: with 2 or 3 of those, each one is less sharp than it would be alone. The screen shows the result before you download.
How do I send both sides of an ID in 200 KB?
Put both photos in one PDF with JPG to PDF, cropped tight, then compress it here to 200 KB. If the form takes two files, upload each side separately.
Does a scanned signature still show?
Yes: whatever appears on the page stays the same, even when the page becomes an image. Only a certificate-based digital signature stops being valid after any change to the file. If the PDF was signed that way, send the original.
Will the text stay selectable?
If it fits in light mode, yes. If the pages have to become images, no: the document stays readable, but the words are no longer text. The screen tells you which one happened.
What if my PDF is already under 200 KB?
The screen tells you it already fits, and you can send it as it is. We don’t touch the file if there’s no need.
Why does the tool make more than one attempt?
So it doesn’t throw away quality for nothing. It starts with light mode and only lowers the resolution as much as needed to fit. Each attempt shows up in the progress bar.
